Harvard University
Gustav Pack of General Consulting Partners, New York City,
was selected by Harvard University to consult with the functional implementation of new
core financial systems. The internal project to Harvard is known as Project ADAPT
and will produce the first new financial systems for the university in more than forty
(40) years. Project ADAPT is a program to implement new financial and human
resource management information systems for the university. The new systems will
generate more timely, consistent and accurate information about the financial activity
than is available today. They will enable better compliance and management of grant
dollars, facilitate smoother administration and enhance Harvard's ability to manage and
allocate funds throughout the university.
New systems that are planned for implementation
are General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable,
Payroll and Human Resources along with a new Chart of Accounts structure that expands the
current 14 digit configuration to a new seven segment, 33 digit format. The software
selected by Harvard, after an extensive study, is the full suite of ORACLE Financial
Systems. The project is expected to be completed in the year 2001.
Harvard selected GCG on the
strength of Mr. Pack's more than thirty (30) years of managing financial software
implementations with particular emphasis on large complex multi disciplinary projects.
